The 2007 Health Plan Cost Trend Survey by The Segal Co. forecasts continued declines in health plan per-capita medical claims cost trends in 2007. Despite this projected deceleration, medical and prescription drug plan costs are expected to outpace general inflation and wage increases. One key finding is that projected increases for high-deductible PPOs (12.0%) are expected to be higher than for traditional managed care plans (11.6%) or HMOs (11.1%).
