FASB Releases Proposal On Disclosure Of Certain Loss Contingencies
On July 20, 2010 the Financial Accounting Standards Board released an Exposure Draft (ED) of a proposed Accounting Standards Update on Disclosure of Certain Loss Contingencies. The 30-day comment period ends August 20, 2010.

FASB Proceeds On Loss Contingencies; Financial Instruments
At its Aug. 19, 2009 board meeting, FASB made certain decisions as it moves toward a final standard on disclosure of certain loss contingencies. Additionally, FASB decided on a definition of financial instruments and some items to scope out of the definition for purposes of its current financial instruments project.
