[print version]
On April 8, 2011, CCT joined nearly twenty organizations, which represent thousands of companies who use over-the-counter derivatives to hedge business risk, in sending a letter to the U.S. Congress. The letter was sent to the Chairs and Ranking Members of the House Committee on Agriculture, the House Financial Services Committee, the Senate Committee on Agriculture, and the Senate Banking Committee. The letter points out that the current July 15 federal rulemaking deadline under the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010 should be extended to ensure a carefully calibrated regulatory system that will protect the economy without unduly burdening businesses.
