Financial Executive Wins Two Professional Awards
(July 10, 2008) - Florham Park, N.J.- Financial Executives International (FEI) announces that its flagship publication, Financial Executive, is the recipient of two professional publishing awards:
The Apex Award in the category of Feature Writing (for the article "Cox’s Balancing Act," which appeared in the July/August 2007 issue and was written by freelance writer Stephen Barlas; and
The ASBPE (American Society of Business Publication Editors) Northeast Region Bronze Award for design in the category of Opening Page/Spread – Computer Generated for “Banking Gets Greener,” which appeared in the June 2007 issue.
Editor-in-Chief Ellen M. Heffes and Creative Director Laura Avello were present at the ASBPE banquet on June 9 to receive the ASBPE award. Since 2000, with Jeffrey Marshall as editor-in-chief, the magazine has won a series of juried awards, including the 2003 gold award as the top association trade magazine in the Association Trends All-Media Contest.
When learning of the awards, Heffes, who was promoted from executive editor to editor-in-chief on June 30, when Marshall retired, remarked: "What a tribute to Jeff's successful tenure here at Financial Executive, that two additional awards have been earned under his leadership." And, she added, "Naturally, I aim to continue on the path Jeff has paved."
