Job Title: Vice President of Financial Executives Research Foundation
Department: Financial Executives Research Foundation (FERF)
Reports to: President & CEO
Job Summary:
The Vice President is responsible for setting direction, managing and reporting on the operations of the Financial Executives Research Foundation (FERF). The Vice President is charged with developing strategic plans for FERF and following through on their execution, and works with the President & CEO and other senior leaders to promote the work of the Foundation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Executives Research Foundation
- Manages operating activities of FERF subject to the policies of the Board of Trustees.
- Develops an annual plan consistent with and supportive of FEI and FERF's strategic plan as approved by the respective boards. Assures the activities of the Foundation are coordinated with those of FEI.
- Creates a vision for research for use by operating senior financial officers in practical applications.
- Oversees research program and ensures that projects are of a high interest and value to FEI members.
- Reviews and develops strategic plans of FERF as well as the goals and objectives of FEI, building upon the various plans of the past and reshaping, as appropriate, with support from the Strategic Planning Committee.
- Regularly reviews and analyzes actual performance against strategic plan.
- Develops annual plans consistent with the strategic plan and the goals and objectives of FEI.
- Implements research programs that position FERF and FEI as dynamic, contemporary organizations.
- Works with FEI Technical Committees, other financial associations, and leading graduate schools of business to develop research ideas. Presents research to the membership.
- Oversees production and publishing of publications, ensuring that publications emanating from the research process are of high quality. Conducts research, acts as project manager, or writes articles as required.
- Leads an annual fundraising program to support the research programs.
- Promotes recognition and support of FERF as a premier research organization.
- Oversees a staff of 6 .
- Successful candidate will have strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Successful candidate must have a proven track record of excellent leadership skills and supervisory skills, and have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Other skills include the ability to multi-task on numerous projects, large and small, in both collaborative and independent situations; Ability to managing multiple priorities; excellent negotiation skills; excellent written, verbal and presentation skills; strong research skills; salesmanship and organizational skills.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Masters and/or MBA. CPA preferred
Minimum of ten (10) years of public or corporate accounting-related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
- Excellent communication skills, presentation, decision-making, and judgment competencies.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common financial reports.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
- Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
