On Tuesday, February 22, 2011, FEI’s Committee on Corporate Treasury joined the Coalition for Derivatives End-Users in issuing a comment letter to the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission on the End-User Exception from Mandatory Clearing of Swaps proposed rule RIN 3038-AD10. The letter explains that without a clear exemption from clearing requirements in derivatives trades, the companies that hedge would be forced to divert capital away from productive uses to margin accounts.
