On February 4, 2011, FEI joined the Coalition for Derivatives End-Users in sending a letter to U.S. Senators, supporting a letter sent by Senator Mike Johanns, R-Neb., to federal regulators asking for fair implementation of the derivatives title of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010.  The Johanns letter urges regulators to comply with congressional intent and ensure that margin requirements are not applied to end-users of over-the-counter derivatives.
