FEI Tax Committee Supports Nonresident Withholding Legislation

FEI Summary
Financial Executives International's (FEI) Committee on Taxation (COT) has signed onto a letter of support for H.R. 3359, the Mobile Workforce State Income Tax Fairness and Simplification Act of 2007. Introduced by Reps. Hank Johnson (D-Ga.) and Chris Cannon (R-Ut.), the legislation would greatly simplify – and unify – the rules for taxing individuals who travel outside their home states on business trips for temporary periods.
