Kevin M. Brown Serving as Acting IRS Commissioner

Kevin M. Brown has been tapped to serve as Acting IRS Commissioner in the wake of Commissioner Mark W. Everson’s departure in May to head the American Red Cross. Brown previously held several positions within the Service, including Deputy Commissioner; Commissioner of the Small Business/Self-Employed Business Division; and Chief of Staff to Commissioner Everson. Prior to joining the IRS, Mr. Brown worked for ten years as an attorney with the Department of Justice’s Tax Division.
