SEC Names Palmrose Deputy Chief Accountant

On Aug. 2, 2006, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) announced it had named Dr. Zoe-Vanna Palmrose, a professor at USC’s Leventhal School of Accounting, to serve as Deputy Chief Accountant for Professional Practice, the position vacated by Andrew Bailey last year. In her role, Dr. Palmrose will oversee the SEC’s work with respect to audit standards, auditor independence and serve as Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) liaison.
