On September 8, 2009, the Committee on Private Company Policy (CPC-P) sent a letter commending Congressman Kevin Brady of Texas for introducing the ‘Death Tax Repeal Permanency Act’ HR 3463. This bill would mitigate the need for companies to either sell the business or borrow heavily to pay the tax liability by repealing the estate tax entirely. The forced sale of a company would have a devastating impact on the economy by contributing to rising job losses. FEI looks forward to continuing a productive dialogue with Congressman Brady and those supporting estate tax reform.
