In its tenth year, the FEI Hall of Fame continues to provide recognition to senior-level financial executives who have epitomized the performance, leadership and integrity of the most exemplary financial professionals throughout their careers and in doing so, have made significant contributions to the betterment of their respective organizations and to the profession as a whole.
The 2015 inductees were formally honored during an induction ceremony at the Hall of Fame black-tie gala on November 16 at Gotham Hall in New York City, in conjunction with FEI’s 34th Annual Current Financial Reporting Issues (CFRI) Conference. The 2015 inductees included:
Fred A. Allardyce has been Chairman and CEO of Advanced Breath Diagnostics since March 2000. Mr. Allardyce’s professional career also includes various executive positions at American Standard Inc. including Senior VP of Medical Products, CFO, Controller and Assistant Controller. He has also served in various financial-related capacities for Joseph E. Seagram & Sons and Continental Oil Company. He is past Chairman of Financial Executives Research Foundation (FERF) and in 2002 served as Chairman of the FEI.
Joan Lordi Amble retired as Executive VP and Corporate Controller of American Express Company. From 2003 to 2011, and served in several senior positions at American Express, including the role of comptroller. She has worked in various financial leadership roles with General Electric Company, including COO and CFO of GE Capital Markets, served with the Financial Accounting Standards Board earlier in her career. She currently serves as a Director of Brown-Forman Corporation, Sirius XM Radio and Zurich Insurance.
Barbara Hackman Franklin served as the 29th US Secretary of Commerce for President George H.W. Bush. Altogether she has served 5 US Presidents and is now president and CEO of Barbara Franklin Enterprises, advising American businesses with global interests. During more than thirty years service on corporate boards, Franklin has been a director of fourteen public and 3 private companies. Currently she is a board member of Aetna, Inc., a trustee of American Funds, and a member of the International Advisory Board of Lafarge, Paris, France. She has chaired 6 public company audit committees and was instrumental in creating some of today's best practices. A recognized expert in corporate governance, Franklin is the immediate past chairman of the National Association Corporate Directors (NACD). Among her numerous awards is the John J. McCloy award for audit excellence.
Franklin also has a history of service to the accounting profession. She was one of the first public members of the board of AICPA, chaired its audit committee, was a public member of the Auditing Standards Board Planning Committee, served as a trustee of the Financial Accounting Foundation and chaired its international committee, and is an emeritus member of the PCAOB Advisory Council.
Bryan R. Roub retired as Senior VP and CFO of Harris Corporation in 2006 after nine years with the company. Prior, he served various roles at Midland-Ross Corporation, including Assistant Controller, Controller, Executive VP of Finance and CFO. He also served as a member of the audit staff of Ernst & Young. Currently, he is a Board Director at Fairchild Semiconductor International Inc.
P. Norman Roy has held a distinguished career as a financial executive, ultimately serving as the CFO at the Barry Wright Corporation in the Boston area. During that time, Mr. Roy joined the Boston chapter of FEI and served in a variety of roles including Chapter President and finally as Chairman of FEI. In 1988, Mr. Roy joined the FEI staff as President and served with distinction over the ensuing decade.
