: Committee on Government Business

The Committee on Government Business (CGB) was established in June of 1963 to provide a forum for FEI's members to discuss policies on federal legislation and regulation that affect government contractors.

CGB's quarterly meetings provide FEI's members the opportunity to converse with Federal Government Executives and to formulate positions and comments on government policies that impact FEI members doing business with all sectors of the Federal Government. The members of our Committee are drawn from a broad cross-section of companies which do business with the government.

While the Committee has a cross-section of companies with diverse interests its focal point is on legislative and regulatory policy issues related to government procurement, outsourcing and related business policy. In particular, it has focused on government activity that impacts financial practice standards, accounting principles, record keeping and reporting and financial rules followed by private business enterprises. Ultimately, CGB's main goal is to build consensus between government and industry.

    Objectives:
  • To maintain liaison with private sector and governmental agencies
  • To provide information about government contracting issues
  • To ensure that industry views are considered when the government addresses contracting issues
  • To provide a forum for peer interaction and discussion of issues
  • To be a leading advocate of industry views
  • To meet the professional needs and enhance the skills of financial executives
    Leadership:
  • Chair - David K. Ferrari, RTX Corporation
  • Vice Chair - Matt Canavan, General Dynamics Corporation
  • Past Chair - Mark A. Smith, BAE Systems
